
Joint Admission Medical Program
About JAMP
The Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP) is a special program created by the Texas Legislature to support and encourage highly-qualified, economically-disadvantaged Texas resident students pursuing a medical education.
Funded through the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, JAMP is a unique partnership between eleven Texas medical schools and seventy public and private four-year undergraduate institutions.
Since 2003, JAMP has been helping Texas students achieve their dreams with guaranteed admission to one of the state’s eleven medical schools, financial, and academic support to help them get there, and access to resources that allow them to excel.

Lourdes C.
My name is Lourdes, and I’m a Neuroscience major expected to graduate in Spring 2026. I was born in Houston, TX, and was raised in El Salvador for most of my life. I am a part of AED and AMWA, and like to volunteer with the Play With Me program on campus. During my free time I love baking, weightlifting, playing basketball, and going on long walks to watch the sunset.

Reagan C.
My name is Reagan, and I’m a sophomore Biology major minoring in Criminology and Psychology. I was born and raised in East Texas, but I’ve really enjoyed getting to learn and grow in DFW. I’m part of the Collegium V Honors Program, a member of the American Medical Women’s Association, Vice President Administration of the Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity, and a research assistant in the Dillon Lab studying antibiotic resistance. I also volunteer for Comets HELP, a partnership between UT Dallas and UT Southwestern where students are trained to prevent delirium in geriatric patients at Clements University Hospital. In my free time, I enjoy reading, doing yoga, trying lavender lattes at different coffee shops, and taking care of my plants. An interesting fact about me is that last summer I interned at Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya. As a first-year JAMP Scholar, I look forward to deepening both my connections with the JAMP community and understanding of medicine through the summer internships.

Ayomide D.
My name is Ayomide and I’m a sophomore double majoring in Psychology and Child Care Development with a minor in Neuroscience. I currently hold the position of Secretary for the African Student Union and I enjoy sharing my culture with others and creating a safe space on campus where people feel safe. I am also a member of the American Medical Women’s Association which has provided me a place where I can connect with like-minded women. I’m involved with the Center for Robust Speech Systems lab and have been working on research concerning Social Emotional Learning in Early Classrooms. I like spending my free time volunteering, doing puzzles, watching sitcoms, going to the gym, trying new restaurants, and making the occasional corny joke!

Eli N.
My name is Eli and I am a current Neuroscience major. I am currently a sophomore but am expecting to graduate in Spring of 2025. I was born and raised here in Richardson, Texas. I am currently working as a part-time caregiver and love working with my patients! I also love volunteering with hospices, nursing homes, and I volunteer at a geriatrics clinic once to twice a week. Outside of school I enjoy playing sports like ultimate frisbee, pickleball, and football and really love going outside in nature. I am excited to be a JAMP scholar and am ready for the journey ahead.

Valeria V.
My name is Valeria and I am a sophomore majoring in Neuroscience. I am originally from Houston, but currently attend college at UTD. I currently volunteer at Medical City Dallas in the cancer resource center. On campus I am involved with the Terry Scholarship where I serve as the service coordinator. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. I also work part-time at Olive Garden as a to-go specialist. I am excited to be a part of this amazing community!

Lourdes C.
My name is Lourdes; I’m a Neuroscience major expected to graduate in Spring 2026. I was born in Houston, Texas, and spent most of my upbringing in El Salvador. Currently, I work in Dr. Dussor’s lab, studying the pathophysiology of migraines with an emphasis on nociceptors that innervate the cranial meninges. I am an active member of the American Medical Women’s Association, an organization dedicated to advancing and advocating for women in medicine. I am also involved in the Alpha Epsilon Delta pre-health honor society, where I participate in service initiatives to support my community. Outside of academics and research, I enjoy taking walks, baking, and working out at the gym.

Megan S.
My name is Megan, and I am majoring in neuroscience and double minoring in biology and medicine, arts, science, and humanities (MASH), and I have a huge passion for learning. I was born and raised in Magnolia, TX, but I have loved living and exploring in Dallas. I hold leadership positions in AED and CHAARG, and I also work as an office assistant in the SOC office. Off campus, I am a medical scribe in an ER, and I volunteer at Medical City Dallas Heart and Spine Hospital every week. Outside of my academics, I love learning Italian with my older brother, camping and hiking with my best friend, taking my dog on walks, spending time with my family, and trying out every coffee shop.

Sana A.
My name is Sana, and I am a Healthcare Studies major expected to graduate in Spring 2027. I work as a scribe at an ER and urgent care and volunteer as a medical assistant at a free clinic for the uninsured in Collin County. I’m a research assistant at the Language Interaction and Language Acquisition in Children (LILAC) Lab, which focuses on language development in children with autism spectrum disorder and also bilingual children. I am the president of Making Healthcare Affordable (MHA), an organization at UT Dallas that advocates for affordable healthcare for low-income and uninsured individuals. In my free time, I love to read anything fantasy-related, hike, volunteer at my local library, go to cat cafes, and try new restaurants. I’m excited to start this journey and connect with so many other aspiring physicians!

My name is Devin, I’m currently a Sophomore at The University of Texas at Dallas, majoring in Biology. I chose to get into medicine to see the difference that my professional work would have on those around me. Some of my hobbies are gardening, Shaolin Kung-Fu, and reading.
